Software Update Instructions

To check the Plusoptix software version installed on the camera:

1. Power up the camera

2. Press the gear symbol, lower left.

3. Press the (i) upper right. The current version installed will be displayed.

If the latest version is newer than the camera version:

1. Use an SD card with a minimum capacity of 1 GB. NOTE: The existing data on the SD card will be overwritten.

2. Insert SD card into SD card slot. If you do not have a SD card slot in your computer, you may want to purchase a USB 3.0 SD Card Reader.

3. To install the Plusoptix software on the SD Card.

   1. Create a Plusoptix folder on your computer. 

   2. Download the Update Release IMG file to the Plusoptix folder.

   3. PC Computer (Windows 7 or greater)

      1. Download the Etcher-Portable 1.7.9.EXE file for Windows 7 or Etcher-Portable 1.18.11.EXE file for Windows 8 and above to the Plusoptix folder

      2. Run Etcher-Portable EXE file (no installation necessary).

         1. Click on “Select Image” to choose the Update Release image file to write to the SD card

         2. Click on “Select Drive” and choose the target SD card you want to write the image to

         3. Click on “Flash” to start the image writing process. This may take 15+ or more minutes to complete.

   4. Mac Computer

      1. Download the Etcher-Mac DMG file 

      2. Drag Etcher into the Applications folder on the Mac to install, and then launch the app

      3. Click on “Select Image” to choose your disk image file to write to the SD card

      4. Click on “Select Drive” and choose the target SD card you want to write the image to

      5. Click on “Flash” to start the image writing process. This may take 5 or more minutes to complete.

Open the Plusoptix Software Update Instructions document and follow the instructions on page 2 to update the camera with the SD card.
